Born on July 10th in Waukegan, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. Royce is the youngest of seven children. He grew up in a house full of musical talent. His older siblings had a strong impact on him and he began to sing and play the piano at the early age of five years old. Royce entered every talent show there was available. It wasn't until his freshman year in high school that he expanded on his knowledge of music and began producing. All of this exposure left quite an impression on the school staff. They asked him to perform at his graduation ceremony. Much to his parent’s surprise, they walked in to the gymnasium to find their son sitting at the piano, playing for the entire school. After graduating high school, Royce studied Legal Aspects of the Arts & Entertainment at Columbia College and continued working on his music. Soon he began producing for local artists and although this kept him very busy, he knew it wasn't enough to satisfy his love for music, he wanted to pursue a career in the music business. He then moved to Georgia to live out his dream of becoming a successful artist in the city of Atlanta. Living with relatives at first, he started over again and built a fully equipped recording studio. Working mostly on his own music, he continues to produce for local artists as well. Music has always been a part of Royce's lifestyle and was inspired by many music genres from rap, R&B, P-Funk, New Jack Swing, Rock & Roll and Hip-Hop. He was heavily influenced by Prince and the R&B sounds of groups such as Cameo, The Gap Band, Ready for the World, Mint Condition and The Isley Brothers. Royce adapted this style and fused it with his own originality, creating a funky groove for the new millennium. Royce (meaning): The Son of King and Royalty, a name to live up to. His strong, yet gentle vocals stand notably tall for all to hear. Royce’s compassion for others and determination for success best describes who he is in which he accredits his mother and father for.
